The Santee Historical Society Museum is located inside the 1913 Gambrel roof barn that was once owned by millionaire polo fancier and dairyman, Walter Dupee, and is the only remaining building of Santee's prominent dairy industry. The SHS also houses the only extensive collection of artifacts, manuscripts, printed material, and images that document the social and cultural history of our community.

The Edgemoor Dairy Barn is not only an important springboard to Santee's dairy history, but also a place where Mr Dupee proudly housed his renown prized Guernseys that were used in his modern scientific breeding and milking programs.
