From Humble Beginnings to Impactful Present: 
Join Us As Our Founding Mother Celebrates Her Centennial!

In 1969, San Ysidro Health's Founding Mothers came together with a common mission that would set the tone for health and well-being in their community for generations to come. Carmen Martinez, the last surviving Founding Mother, embodies the spirit of resilience and selflessness, and this year we celebrate her Centennial Birthday!

Today, San Ysidro Health.....

• has a staff of nearly 3,000 members, of which 77% are women;
• provides compassionate, innovative care to more than 145,000 patients,
• has a vast and integrated network of 50 program sites across San Diego County,
• and now including expanded Services into North and Rural East San Diego County.

As we approach Mrs. Martinez's Centennial on September 25, 2023, we are reminded of the power of community and the importance of fighting for what you believe in. She still reminds us there is still much work to be done to meet the health needs of our families...
