A foreign-based investor is proposing to cut down 37+ acres of old growth forest that lies above the shores of Enetai Beach, south of Illahee State Park which is connected via WDFW designated wildlife corridors to the Illahee Forest Preserve. It is part of a historic 65 acre estate formally owned by William Bremer, and Ben B. Cheney that has state tidelands, wetlands and other numerous other critical areas . The developer wants to destroy the forest and last remaining contiguous wildlife habitat in the area and replace it with 189 homes (high density) which is not compatible with our neighborhoods. We are opposing City of Bremerton approval of sewer line extension that would destroy our neighborhoods and result in FORCED annexation that is overwhelmingly opposed by its residents.
