Saving Kidsight

At KidSight, our mission is to ensure that every child has the opportunity to see the world clearly. We believe that good vision is essential for a child's learning and development, which is why we provide free vision screenings to children across our community.

Each year, we screen about 45,000 kids with the help of our trained staff and dedicated volunteers. Last year, we screened over 3,400 children in Boone County, alone! Our screenings are quick, non-invasive, and designed to detect vision issues early, before they become obstacles to a child’s success in school and life.

You may have seen us at your child's preschool, a Columbia Parents as Teachers event or at story time at the Daniel Boone Regional Library. We partner with local schools, daycares, preschools, and other community organizations to reach as many children as possible, ensuring that no child is left behind due to undetected vision problems.  Our goal is simple: to identify kids who need further eye care and connect them with the resources they need to thrive.
