Sbarro Health Research Organization Inc

We're asking you for a tax deductible contribution to the nonprofit Sbarro Health Research Organization (www.shro.org), whose research facilities are located at Temple University's College of Science & Technology.

Our vital biomedical research works to find new diagnostic tools, therapies and cures for cancer, cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

All funds are entirely dedicated to our basic research and to training future researchers at our lab in Philadelphia.

Highlights of the past year at SHRO include:

- Development of novel diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, including a drug development program that targets cell cycle cancer inhibitors and a bio-synthetic and bio-compatible stem cell based scaffolding for application in regenerative medicine

- Establishment of a Translational Research Institute in conjunction with the University City Science Center. This includes 10,000 feet of laboratory and office space and will begin pre-commercialization of promising technologies.

- Construction of a state of the art International Research Residence at Temple University in collaboration with the Beech Cooperation to accommodate over 50 scholars in residence

While our programs continue to be supported by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, our need for individual contributions is great.
