Purchase Archival Storage

All donations will fund the purchase of specialty boxes and folders to protect the 20,000 artifacts in our collection

The purchase of archival quality storage containers is necessary.  Document storage cases, bulk storage boxes and drop-front boxes are acid-free and designed to prevent damage to our collections long-term. File folders, sleeves, and envelopes provide individual protection of photographs (over 2000 in our collection) and negatives. The list goes on and on, and the number grows each week as we continue to catalog our collection and continue to receive new acquisitions.

Never Enough Boxes

Boxes—they are pretty standard—you can pick one up anywhere, especially a used box. Unfortunately these types of boxes are not adequate for storing historical artifacts. Acid-free boxes, folders, and sleeves are required and they cost dearly.
