The SCORE Foundation

Since 1964, SCORE has provided entrepreneurs with the education, training and resources they need to start and grow successful small businesses. Each year, SCORE’s volunteer corps of 10,000 expert mentors serves 300,000 small business owners through virtual or in-person mentoring sessions and educational workshops. 

This year, during an unprecedented national health crisis, small businesses needed help more than ever before. Many businesses were forced to pivot their operations in a shifting landscape, dramatically revamp their marketing plans, apply for loans, or make difficult decisions about employees.

In order to support these business owners when they needed us most, the SCORE Foundation provided funding for SCORE’s Small Business Resilience program. This platform allowed us to pivot our mentoring and educational services onto virtual platforms, where clients could easily access the pandemic-related information, guidance and resources they needed to survive and thrive.

The Small Business Resilience program has served 210,000 unique clients to date, and has hosted virtual workshops for more than 380,000 attendees. More than 3.6 million entrepreneurs have visited our online educational hub on 9 million occasions.

As the pandemic stretches on, SCORE is working to develop programs and resources focused on serving sectors within the small business community who have been most negatively impacted. This includes Black-owned businesses, Latinx-owned, women-owned and other underrepresented communities.
