$5,000 Goal

Scott's Wish is a volunteer-led nonprofit providing direct, compassionate support to critically ill individuals and animals in urgent need. From helping patients facing life-threatening illnesses to funding emergency care for injured strays and retired military K9s, we step in where others can't-giving hope, healing, and a second chance.

Founded in 2008 in memory of Scott Lala, Scott's Wish is a volunteer-driven nonprofit with a mission rooted in compassion. With no funds spent on salaries or office space, nearly every dollar raised goes directly to helping critically ill individuals and animals in urgent need.

Scott's Wish partners with hospital and cancer center social workers to assist patients battling cancer, ALS, and other life-threatening conditions. Many face not only serious medical challenges but also overwhelming financial hardship-struggling to afford housing, utilities, and transportation. By providing timely, direct support, we aim to ease these burdens and bring hope and stability during their most difficult times.

Through our Compassionate Paws initiative, we fund urgent medical care for injured or ill strays in open-admission shelters across Louisiana. We also support retired special operations K9s nationwide through the Duco Project, ensuring these heroic dogs get the care they deserve in retirement. In addition to medical treatment, we help coordinate foster placements, adoptions, and transport efforts-giving every animal we assist the opportunity for a second chance and a safe, loving future.
