Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple

A nonprofit organization

$64,900 raised by 263 donors

The Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple is a performing arts organization housed in an architectural treasure located in the heart of downtown Scranton.   In addition to its own vast program offerings, including a vibrant Youth Theatre Program the SCC is proud to partner with organizations like Broadway in Scranton, the Lackawanna County Library System, Scranton Fringe Festival, NEPA Philharmonic, Friends of the Poor and so many more.

We have had an incredible year and are continually overwhelmed by support we have received and continue to receive from our patrons, donors and the community at large.

There were countless other memorable events throughout the season, including a successful season with our friends at Broadway In Scranton, but most importantly, and it was just so heartwarming to open our doors to the community!  In addition to a robust event schedule, which also included weddings, dance recitals and so much more, we've also been working on improvement projects throughout our building as we embarked on a large-scale exterior renovation through the State of Pennsylvania's Department of General Services.

Coming up next is our 12th Annual SCCYTP Summer Camp Program featuring our newly expanded program, now offering a Middle Division for performers in Grades 4-7!  We're so excited to present productions of Disney's Winnie the Pooh KIDS, Annie JR, Into the Woods JR, The Drowsy Chaperone JR and Disney's Newsies JR!  For details, visit SCCMT.org/camp - but hurry!  Many sessions are sold out and only a few spots remain.  We're also thrilled to, once again, work with the Scranton Jazz Festival in August to present Tower of Power!  For a full schedule of upcoming events, visit SCCMT.org

We couldn't continue to offer events and programming as well as maintain our magnificent facility without YOUR generosity and support.
On June 5 and 6, we ask you to consider supporting our mission, programming, and ongoing restoration by making a donation to the Scranton Cultural Center.   Thank you!

ABOUT THE SCRANTON CULTURAL CENTER:

At approximately 180,000 square feet, the building houses two theatres, meeting rooms, a grand ballroom as well as numerous other rooms and areas. Over time, the Masonic Fraternity realized the need to utilize the facility in other collaborative ways, and a grass roots effort was launched to form a not-for-profit organization. the Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple (SCCMT) remains dedicated to the preservation and improvement of the structure, and to provide an ongoing programming resource for the community.

The unique partnership of the communities of Northeastern Pennsylvania and the Masonic Fraternity has proven successful and beneficial to all parties. Today, the SCCMT operates the facility as a regional performance and cultural hub. The Center serves as the residence for national tours of Broadway musicals and concerts, and hosts a variety of many other national and regional artists. It also has kept to its earliest purposes by continuing to serve as the center of Masonic activity in the region.

The Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple's mission is to rejuvenate a national architectural treasure as a regional center for the arts, education and community activity appealing to all. We are also committed to offering arts integrated experiences to our regional school districts, home school groups and charter schools as well as the community at large.
