Inspiring the Next Generation of Salish Sea Stewards!
As a free public aquarium in the heart of Kitsap County, SEA Discovery Center loves helping people connect with the amazing world of the Salish Sea. For 60 years, we’ve brought our community closer to the animals, habitats, people, and cultures that make this region unique.
Each year, we welcome 25,000+ visitors, and 800+ Kitsap and Tribal students through our free Field Trip program. With hands-on exhibits and interactive learning, students and visitors explore, discover, and build real connections to our local waters and the changing climate.
Our free Field Trip program is funded each year through grants and community support—including Kitsap Great Give—and is designed to inspire the next generation of marine stewards. Students enjoy a 2‑hour adventure that includes classroom learning, aquarium time, our Floating Lab, a visit to the Suquamish Tribe’s shellfish farm, and coming in 2025–26, an introduction to the endangered Pinto Abalone and our new giant Pacific octopus habitat!
