Second Chance Grace Inc

Second Chance Grace, Inc., (SCG) is 501 (C) (3) non-profit
organization serving at-risk youth and young adults in the states of Idaho, California and New Mexico.

 Our target clients are youth ages 9-25 who have been involved in drugs, alcohol, gangs, and criminal and at-risk lifestyles. We offer many services, such as Idaho’s only tattoo removal program, youth mentoring, crisis intervention, school based assemblies life skill training, gang exit assistance, family and individual case management.

Our goal is to equip our clients with the tools to be successful adults and productive members of society.

Currently in the United States, we have over 2.3 million people incarcerated. In 2008, the United States built more prisons than schools. This alarming trend must stop. Our founder Peter Vasquez has been an instrumental figure in the fight against gangs and drugs in Idaho, Washington, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Wyoming and California.

We are currently fund raising for a mock prison cell to be used in presentations to local schools and civic youth organizations. This cell will be the exact replica of a real prison cell. It will be equipped with audio of jail and prison inmates speaking a message of deterrence to area youth. These testimonies will be taken from a wide spectrum of individuals ranging from convicted drunk drivers to convicted murderers as well as crime victims and family members of inmates This project is NOT modeled after the “Scared Straight” program.

Scare tactics alone have historically been ineffective. Our program portrays realistic consequences in a powerful, dramatic format that will touch hearts; however, we
then offer motivation and inspirations for positive life changes, and equip individuals with tools and life skills necessary to accomplish those changes.
