Seeding Labs’ support has helped scientists make important scientific gains that include developing a patent in neurobiology research and creating a diagnostic test for multi-drug resistant tuberculosis in Argentina. Other activities span research in the fight against malaria, HIV/AIDS and cancer, nutrition and disease prevention, and genetic engineering to enhance drought tolerance in tropical crops.

We accomplish this with our corporate and academic partners, providing over 1.3 million in equipment donations and fellowship training programs to universities and research institutions in 17 countries. Through the equipment and our "training the trainers" approach, we enhance the education of more that 4,000 individuals annually. The labs we fund have gone on to increase their funding by 216% - making the donations sustainable and a key factor in development.

We have three specific programs:

Lab Equipment Transfer Program: Seeding Labs conducts a world-wide vetting process to identify universities in low- and middle-income countries with strong scientific potential. We work with them to catalog their needs for scientific research and teaching equipment. We then secure equipment donations from leading corporate and academic institutions in the U.S., and coordinate equipment delivery and work with the receiving universities to ensure equipment is shared, used and maintained.

Fellowship Program: We conduct an extensive screening process to select Seeding Labs Fellows who are typically science faculty in developing countries. During a 10-week intensive program Seeding Labs provides training in grant writing and other critical skills, and facilitates introductions to colleagues and collaborators across academia and industry. Corporate and academic partners host the Fellows in their labs and provide them with training and insights into the latest research.

Ambassadorship Program: This “Peace Corps for scientists” program provides scientists from the U.S. and Europe with the opportunity to share their expertise abroad. They conduct seminars and workshops in their fields at Seeding Labs partner universities in developing countries, and experience the priorities and challenges of their global counterparts

You can empower talented scientists today - every bit helps. We couldn't do this without generous supporters like yourself!
