Welcome to the SHA Crew Fundraising Page!!!

The ErgAThon is SHAcrew’s premier annual fundraiser.  On April 27th, we will hold our annual ErgAThon to raise money for the team.  An ERG is short for ergometer, the rowing machine we use for training and fitness.  During each ERGATHON event, athletes will ERG for 30 minutes, attempting to row between 6,000-10,000 meters.  All athletes gather ledges and donations from family, friends, local businesses, etc - and then “erg” for 30 minutes in the Sacred heart Academy’s erg room.  You can pledge for the total race or per 500 meters to inspire your rower!  Donate at the link above!!  Or directly to your favorite rower.  All funds go to the program.

Rowing is one of the most expensive of all high school sports.  Boats usually cost as much as a car ($31,000+) We have to pay to keep our spot in our boat house - not just for use by the athletes, but also for the storage of the boat and oars. Though our school helps to pay some of the costs, we still need to fundraise a majority of our budget.  The team relies heavily on its members and donors for financial support. Despite our financial challenges, our team has been able to be very competitive.  In the Spring of last year, the team competed in the five Manny Flicks, Philadelphia’s City Championships, as well as the Stotesbury Regatta. 

About the Crew Program at Sacred Heart Academy Bryn Mawr

Sacred Heart Academy, formerly know as The Country Dayschool of the Sacred Heart, began its legacy in Rowing in 2000. Over the last 24 years Sacred Heart has consistently competed and medaled in City Championships, the Stotesbury Regatta, as well as National Championships. Most recently winning 1st place at City Championships in 2023. Over the last 7 years Sacred Heart’s Rowing Program, SHA CREW, has cultivated 5 athletes that have earned rowing scholarships to multiple colleges and universities. 

With your support this program will continue deliver an incredible experience for our current team as well as for future generations of women rowers. The money raised will pay for replacing outdated equipment, the privilege of boat storage at the Vesper Boathouse on Boathouse Row, race admissions, as well as transportation to regional regattas throughout the Mid-Atlantic.
