Shaken Baby Prevention of Idaho

MISSION

 The mission of Shaken Baby Prevention of Idaho is to get increased education and awareness out to Idahoans on the dangers of shaking a child, give people tools to deal with the frustrations that can come with taking care of a baby, especially crying, and be a support system for other families that have or unfortunately may have to go through this preventable tragedy in the future!

 

PURPOSE

The purpose of Shaken Baby Prevention of Idaho is to provide the people of Idaho with the knowledge that they need to keep a child safe from being shaken.  In the state of Idaho and throughout the country SBS cases continue to increase.  SBS is 100% preventable and we know the best way to prevent this type of abuse is through education. 

 

BACKGROUND

Shaken Baby Prevention of Idaho was started by a mother in Idaho whose own daughter was a victim of shaken baby syndrome.  Her daughter sustained life threatening injuries including: bleeding on the brain, broken ribs, broken arm, blood pooling in her spine, and retinal hemorrhages.  Thankfully the little girl survived and ever since then the mother has been on a mission to try and end shaken baby syndrome.
