Shapleigh School

Every year, 60 to 70 students from Shapleigh School in Kittery, Maine compete in Maine's Odyssey of the Mind Program.  They begin working on their "long-term problems" in December or early January, coming up with solutions, writing scripts, creating props, and buidilng backdrops with the goal of presenting their solution, via a performance, at Maine's tournament in late March or early April.

Over the past several years, Kittery has had a huge presence at the state tournament and typically takes home several trophies (including second and third place finishes) every spring. We have sent teams to World Finals every year since the program became active again in 2008.

Our biggest challenge is finding coaches each year, as we always have to turn students away. If you are a Shapleigh parent, please consider getting involved in this program!
