Science is the bedrock of life. Our students know this as biology, chemistry, and physics are popular classes at the school SHARE supports.
Lizzy, our in-country coordinator, was tasked with investigating the most pressing needs at the school and discovered that the science facilities were in dire straits. Our jaws dropped when we saw the photos. The lighting is extremely poor (banana trees block the windows), the roof leaks, the sinks have no plumbing, lab equipment is scarce, and shelves are needed to store supplies. The list goes on and on.
Our top 2023 fundraising goal is to upgrade three classrooms into fully-equipped science laboratories. We will also continue to fund our thriving SHARE Scholars program, which keeps needy girls in school.
During this season of giving, please help us with these worthwhile projects. Thank you!
Education is something many of us take for granted. Yet in some parts of the world, poverty denies many girls their right to go to school. Left out of education, they are highly vulnerable and at risk of child marriage.
The opportunity to go to school changes everything. Educated young women in rural sub-Saharan Africa earn 25% more per year of secondary education, invest 90% of that income in their families, and have healthier children.
