The Sharing Place

The Sharing Place provides a safe, supportive space where children, teens, and their families can grieve together and find connection after the death of a loved one. A state-wide organization, The Sharing Place has locations in Salt Lake City, Taylorsville, Utah County, and Washington County.

Since 1993, our mission has been to create a caring environment where families can share their feelings and begin to heal. Through age-appropriate grief support groups for children and adults, we emphasize the importance of acknowledging all emotions, connecting with others who understand, and expressing grief through art, play, and discussion.

Guided by trained facilitators and volunteers, children discover they are not alone. In these peer support groups, they share their stories, build coping skills, and develop a sense of belonging—often finding comfort in the simple but powerful realization: “me too.”

All of our programs are offered at no cost to families, ensuring that every child has access to support, regardless of financial circumstances.
