The Sharlot Hall Historical Society of Arizona was incorporated in 1929 as the Historical Society of Prescott, an Arizona non-profit corporation, with Sharlot M. Hall as one of the original incorporators.  The Articles of Incorporation were amended in 1946 to adopt the present name.  Upon the death of Sharlot M. Hall in 1943, all of the assets of her estate, including her historical collections, were bequeathed to this Society and ultimately became a part of the collections of the Sharlot Hall Museum. The Museum, which is open to the public 7 days a week, resides in a park – like setting on approximately 4 acres in downtown Prescott. The Museum maintains 9 historical buildings, including the 1864 Territorial Governor's Mansion, housed on its original site. The Museum's Library and Archives are an asset to those researching Arizona history. Our education department hosts school tours to educate children first hand on the history of Arizona. Any funds that you can contribute will be used to maintain the Museum for years to come.
