Shasta County Sar Teams Inc

The Shasta County Search and Rescue Teams are comprised entirely of local citizens who volunteer their time and provide their own gear and supplies. The mission of the Shasta County Search and Rescue Ground Team (SCGSAR) is to act under the direction of the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office in all respects associated with locating, rescuing, and recovering all lost, stranded, injured, or otherwise incapacitated individuals. These activities may be engaged at the request of the Shasta County Sheriff but are not limited to the geographical boundaries of Shasta County. SCGSAR is organized to respond and be consistent with the requirements of the National Incident Management System (NIMS). SCGSAR provides volunteer citizens with the training and practices necessary to implement and deploy those overall plans, policies, and standards set by the Sheriff or his/her representative to assure that effective levels of search and rescue (SAR) services are maintained in the County of Shasta. Our efforts support our purpose, "So that others may live".
