Shasta Lake Heritage & Historical Society

A nonprofit organization

Come visit our Boomtown Museum in the City of Shasta Lake! We are completely volunteer-staffed and open M/F/S 9-1 pm or by special request. We are "Those Dam Kids", relations to those hard-working men who built Shasta Dam and believe it is important to preserve the history and culture of the area. Currently on display are cameras in our collection, the Churntown mining exhibit,  military memorabilia honoring Veterans, and much more. In addition, we have a research library & map collection, school yearbooks, a recording studio to preserve those memories, short historical videos on screen, and much more. Visit our wonderful gift shop- filled with "Dam" hats, shirts, mugs & more!  Community-minded, our Candy Booth at the Community Holiday Bazaar in November is just one of the many events we participate in to fundraise and "keep the doors open". In the works, is a book forthcoming in 2024 about Women Who Led the Way in Shasta County with stories not only from our historical society but a collaboration with other local historical societies. We also host social and school educational tours and a future project is to develop a walking/driving historical tour. All of this and more is only possible through our membership, community support, and donations at large. Please consider us for a donation and/or support us by becoming a member - we send out 3 newsletters a year and have an awesome Annual Membership Appreciation dinner.  Not only will you support the education of our youth but you will also preserve history!

Thank you in advance for your generosity.
