Shelby Help Line Ministries sole purpose is to help members of our community in times of need, whether they be great or small. Our ministries include; budget classes, utility assistance, clothing and household items, hygiene kits, children's free summer lunches, back to school supplies and clothing, Christmas food boxes and meat vouchers, Christmas toys for children partnered with Salvation Army, medical equipment, third party interviews for other agencies, information and referral for clients, and most recently we are open as a warming and cooling center during our business hours. In addition we share our site with Salvation Army and FISH Food Pantry.

The unique thing about Shelby Help Line Ministries is that we are able to speak with individuals one on one and help them walk through difficult or stressful situations. If our agency is not able to assist them with their need, we then contact other agencies who can. We are partnered with several non-profits in our community and also Richland County to be able to serve them. Our ministry stands as a beacon of hope in our community. Anyone can come into our facility and be met where they are without discrimination. Our goal is to get them aid anyway that we can while offering hope and encouragement. We are able to pray with each person, or pray for them once contact is made. 

Currently we are working on some projects around our new facility. After 7 years of building, we were able to move in January of 2022. There is still some work to be completed outside of the building, and some things to be put into place inside the building. Recently we were given a plot of land to be able to put in a new drive to the building. This allows for direct access from the road to our facility. We are looking to complete the sidewalks and landscaping around the outside of the building. As for the inside we would like to add some color to the halls and lobby area, possibly a mural. Our new building also includes a fairly large classroom area, and we are looking to incorporate some comfortably seating and tables.

2023 Statistics; financial aid for utilities, 114 household received assistance; budget classes, 62 individuals attended; clothing, 2,859 households made requests; medical equipment, 103 items requested; children's free summer lunches, 7,421 meals served; back-to-school supplies, 211 children received assistance; community Christmas program, 264 households totaling 816 individuals, 365 of which were children; and for information and referrals 19,328 requests were made.
