Shelby Park Neighborhood Association

Since 1974, the Shelby Park Neighborhood Association has worked for the common good of our community through projects, activities and partnerships designed to promote civic pride and community spirit. We aim to act on behalf of all our residents to advocate for compassion, affordability, and livability while maintaining our distinct cultural and economic diversity. We bring people together, lift each other up, and amplify one another's voices.

Where does your money go? We keep it in the neighborhood, and support causes that better our neighborhood. In recent years, we have commissioned murals, helped finance historical markers, put up banners, and supported other beautification initiatives. We helped create and activate a community garden space from a vacant lot in the southwest corner of the neighborhood on Preston Street and raised money to support an oral history project. And we broadly aim to channel our resources to support nonprofits that work within our borders.
