ABOUT SHINE FOR ISLA
Isla Rue Cameron was full of love and joy, it radiated from her. And it was contagious – she touched everyone she met with her smile, her unique way of looking at life and by all of the good she put into the world. She had a deeply caring and grateful heart and sought to make a difference. She was always lifting people up, doing nice things for others and encouraging people to be themselves. Isla reveled in each and every moment of life – she lived it to the fullest, and remarkably, found beauty even in tragedy. She inspired everyone around her to do the same. Through our foundation, we work to keep her legacy, her essence, alive: BE THE SUNSHINE! 

OUR INAUGURAL YEAR
We were able to accomplish so much in our first year with the foundation thanks to our community of supporters. Some of those projects and initiatives included:
-A friendship swing installed at the Dieringer Heights Elementary School playground
-Park bench installed at Seabrook on Gnome Trail
-Spreading kindness through Kindness Kits and Shine for Isla Day (over 100 random acts of kindness put into the world)
-Awareness about SUDC (Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood), AED and CPR
-Participation in the World's Largest Pet Walk

WHAT'S AHEAD
As we progress into our 2nd year and beyond, we're working on bringing a few projects to life that you can help fund:
-Mochas for Medical Teams: Providing free espresso coupons for health professionals who have worked so hard during the pandemic
-Art for Isla: An art program we'll be taking into 5 elementary schools during the 2022-2023 school year
-AED donations + CPR awareness/training 
-A documentary on grief 
-A community 3-on-3 basketball tournament 

We are grateful for love shown to our family and the support from around the globe that has helped us keep Isla's legacy alive. Isla inspired many to make a difference in the world during her short but powerful 10 years here. As we honor and celebrate her life, we see how she continues to make an impact.
