Harnessing the Power of Community Relationships in order to meet the needs of our most vulnerable community members.

This requires us to meet each neighbor face to face, listen deeply, suspend all judgment, offer positive affirming support along with real world expertise that it takes to navigate the convoluted system of assistance that is available. We work alongside service providers lending the personal support that traditional case workers rarely have time to provide.

We seek to create an interdependent community aligned with a common goal — a thriving, safe and welcoming neighborhood for everyone!

Our current focus is to address the unmet needs of unsheltered individuals and families in the Central Beach Area. 

Shoreline CS steps into these gaps by offering these programs:

Volunteer Community Outreach

The trained Volunteer Outreach Team goes into the community in our SCS van to build relationships, trust and support. This is a crucial piece of our work intended to increase the possibility that unsheltered neighbors will access needed resources and services to move off of the street.

Emergency Medical Respite Hotel Stays

Medically fragile people being released from a hospital stay or an emergency room incident are given time to recover in a hotel room instead of being turned back to the street. Guests are offered supportive services through our Community Partners to ensure individual needs are assessed and addressed.

Connection to resources and services

As of May 2022, Shoreline CS has opened a drop-in resource center this year that is proud to offer a variety of different resources and services to our unhoused neighbors! Click on The Compass Station tab above to learn more!
