Silver Eye Center for Photography

A nonprofit organization

Silver Eye promotes the power of contemporary photography as a fine art medium by creating original exhibitions, unique educational programing, and a space for artists to learn, create, and connect through our digital lab. Our programs are dedicated to supporting the work of emerging, mid-career, and under-recognized artists and sharing that work with our diverse audience in engaging and meaningful ways.

Silver Eye presents exhibitions that take place onsite, online and in the community and are always free to the public. These solo, group and thematic shows present the newest and most important trends and ideas defining the current state of photography, and feature work by both renowned international artists as well as emerging and mid-career photographers from Pittsburgh, the region and state, and the nation. With consistent positive reviews in local and national media, these exhibitions are of surpassing quality, relevance and significance. They have been at the forefront of introducing local audiences to a wide range of contemporary photography and photographers, while immeasurably strengthening Pittsburgh's cultural reputation and visibility.
