OUR MISSION: 

Single Moms Planet is dedicated to uplifting under-resourced families and their children nationwide. 

OUR VISION: 

We do this through comprehensive programs of family bonding activities, mentorship, financial aid, family counseling and entrepreneurial training. Single Moms Planet provides support,  accountability, and hope. 

OUR PROGRAMS:

Many single parent families don’t have the resources to participate in child and family enrichment programs, leaving them isolated and alone. That’s where Single Moms Planet comes in, with your help we can make a difference. 

FINANCIAL LITERACY:

HELP US END THE POVERTY CYCLE FOR GOOD

In 2017, 41% of children living in single-parent families were living in poverty, this is due to the lack of financial literacy education. We give families a hand-up not a hand-out, by providing them the tools to end the poverty cycle. We provide programs and resources that help empower single parent households helping them thrive and prosper. We partner with financial institutions to provide programs and resources that empower single parent households.

CHILD ENRICHMENT:

HELP UNDER-RESOURCED CHILDREN

Since its inception Single Moms Planet has proven to bring much needed interactive family bonding programming to the families that need it most. Over 1/3 of all children are being raised in a single parent household and the majority are headed by single mothers. Due to the ongoing living expense increase year after year many families can’t afford to pay for enrichment programs for their children including, but not limited to family bonding and enrichment activates. Many families are left choosing between a loaf of bread or paying utility bills, rent, clothing and other mandatory necessities to survive. Studies show that enrichment programs provide a different environment for children and families to discover the world together exposing them to new possibilities and opportunities.

CO-PARENTING:

HELP FAMILIES BOND, GROW AND LEARN

Co-parenting can be confusing and hard to manage as emotions run high and parents aren’t quite sure how to navigate towards a harmonious life after a split or divorce. Single Moms Planet is dedicated to sharing the tools to make co-parenting relationships a success for the entire family. Our programs also focus on the children to help them successfully transition during divorce or separation.

CHILDCARE ASSISTANCE:

HELP FAMILIES WITH SAFE, CLEAN CHILDCARE

Single parent families need childcare so they can work and go to school to make a better life for themselves and their children. Having a safe clean place for their children to grow, learn and develop is their number one concern. Unfortunately, far too many families do not have access to high-quality care and cannot afford it due to their limited annual income. Child care is the single biggest monthly expense for most single-parent families, leaving them with little to no resources for basics necessities at the end of the month. We want to make sure that every child is safe.

OUR FOUNDERS STORY:

Single Moms Planet was founded by model, tv personality, and television producer Neferteri Plessy. As a mother with two young sons from her marriage, she felt firsthand the unique challenges that face single mothers. After her divorce, she struggled like many new single moms to find balance, self-fulfillment, and financial security. First and foremost among her concerns was her children and how to ensure a happy stable life for them. Neferteri began to research the effects of divorce and single motherhood, and through her studies, she learned that the most disadvantaged group in the U.S. are single mother families which according to the U.S. Census 30%  live under the poverty line. That’s when she founded Single Moms Planet to end the poverty cycle in single parent households.
