Slow Food Lake Tahoe

Supporting our Soil to Sustenance campaign is your way to nurture an equitable and sustainable food system in our mountain town, and your donation helps us grow in every sense of the word. By meeting our fundraising goal this next month, we’ll be able to expand our current garden space to accommodate 30 new community garden beds and 10 new food bank garden beds. That means more local growers, more hunger relief donations, and more space to make good, clean, and fair food available to all.

The new space will be adjacent to our existing Slow Food Lake Tahoe Gardens in the Truckee River Regional Park and will accommodate 40 garden beds, including 30 community garden beds and 10 dedicated food bank beds. The land has already been leveled, fenced in, and cleared — now we just need your help to bring this vision to life! 

Gardening can be an extremely affordable way to feed people. Gardens also help educate both adults and children about how to grow organic food and why it's important. We have the ardent hope that this garden will continue to be a place of community spirit and collaboration but, we can't do it without your support.  We appreciate you donating, sharing with friends and family, and spreading the word.  Let's grow together this summer!
