Smith County Clubhouse

A nonprofit organization

Our Mission Smith County Clubhouse empowers adults with mental illness to shape their own recovery process, be part of real-world Clubhouse work activities, develop friendships, and experience a better quality of life. Clubhouse is based on the International Clubhouse model - an evidence-based program used worldwide to help adults living with mental illness become less isolated & develop skills to reach their social, educational & employment goals. The focus is healing through recovery.

Imagine your life disrupted by mental illness. Your support systems have disappeared, you are unable to earn a living, and your confidence, self-esteem, and sense of purpose have been lost. You are isolated and alone. Smith County Clubhouse is a place where adults with mental illness can go to recapture what they have lost and move forward in their recovery journey.
We are a recovery-based support system for adults living with mental illness. Our approach is holistic and brings the evidence-based, proven-effective International Clubhouse model to Tyler, Texas. The Clubhouse model is based on 3 key components of recovery (the 3 Ps): a Place to Belong, a Purpose (meaningful and shared work), and People (a supportive community sharing the common goal of recovery). Clubhouse participants are members, not "patients" or "cases." Clubhouses are organized as support systems. They do not provide treatment, therapy or medications. Instead, they provide opportunities for personal growth & community connection. Smith County Clubhouse opened in June 2022 and we are already impacting our members' lives. But we need your support. Your financial support will help Smith County Clubhouse members.
