Bring the art of yoga to light.

Donate now to support the world's first exhibit on yogic art!

Through “Together We’re One”—our first crowdfunding effort—and the altruism of our community of supporters, we have surpassed our initial goal of $125,000 to open Yoga: The Art of Transformation. This support will go toward shipping more than 130 artworks from London and Jodhpur to Washington, DC, this October and publishing a full-color catalogue.

But we won’t stop Yoga there.

Free public programming will bring this magical show to life. With your generosity, we will offer children’s and adult yoga classes in the galleries, plus host Indian music concerts, a symposium, and a family arts festival.

In response to the powerful flow of support that came in during the last few days of our June campaign, we extended “Together We’re One.” The extension has allowed us to enfold as many studios, yogis, art lovers, ashrams, community organizations, and philanthropic individuals as possible into the fabric of yoga history. We hope you'll join our vibrant community of supporters with a donation today!

Why crowdfunding, and why now? Federal taxpayer money only covers about a third of our costs and mostly goes toward keeping the gallery lights on and the doors open. Funding for our exhibitions and free public programming comes from donors like you. Learn more in our FAQs.

Yoga is more than you know.

Yoga is a global phenomenon practiced by millions of people seeking spiritual insight and better health. Few, however, are aware of yoga's dynamic history. In Yoga: The Art of Transformation, temple sculptures, devotional icons, and vibrant manuscripts—as well as early-modern photographs, books, and films—will reveal yoga's mysteries and illuminate its central tenets and profound meanings over 2,000 years.
