Left unchecked, the federal government buried thousands of leaking barrels of nuclear waste in shallow pits over the Snake River aquifer -- Idaho’s sole source aquifer. It intentionally pumped billions of gallons of lethal nuclear sludge into Idaho’s groundwater. In 1979, a group of courageous Idahoans discovered Three Mile Island waste was going to be dumped in Idaho, and Snake River Alliance was born.

For over 40 years, the Snake River Alliance has been the only organization in Idaho dedicated to nuclear weapons abolition and protecting Idaho from becoming a nuclear waste dump. We are committed to breaking the nuclear weapons and energy industry’s stranglehold on this country’s future. Join us!
