Springfield No One Leaves

Springfield No One Leaves is a grassroots member-led organization in Springfield, Massachusetts. We organize residents most directly impacted by the housing crisis and economic inequality to build collective power, defend against displacement and win long-term community ownership & control over land and housing.

Through direct action campaigns, building community solidarity, leadership development & political education we empower and train residents to be leaders & organizers for a broad social justice movement.

We believe that if we want to win real justice for our communities, we have to build long-term power, a mass-base of thousands of people organizing for self-determination and community autonomy and support families who have the most to gain from transforming the systems at the root of injustice in being transformative leaders and organizers. 

WHY SUPPORT SNOL? In 2015 SNOL has: 

• We brought on a long-time member/leader Rose Webster Smith as a new organizer.
• We launched our new Advanced Movement Leaders Academy and wrote curriculum to deepen our members and organizers political analysis and organizing skills and graduated our first class of 13 members! 
• We’ve spearheaded the statewide campaign to pass critical just cause eviction legislation that would end ALL evictions after foreclosure and increase bank accountability and gotten all of our Western Mass legislative delegation to sign onto the legislation. 
• We’ve developed and laid the groundwork for new tenant organizing work to expand our impact and build our base. 
• Played a leading role in building the National HOMES FOR ALL campaign - an exciting and cutting edge national campaign leading the resurgence in housing justice organizing around the country. 
• We’ve continued to organize, resist and fight like crazy to defend our members homes and ensure that housing is a human right for all people! 
• We’re deepening our commitment to leadership of communities MOST impacted by economic, racial & social injustice by redeveloping our internal leadership structure.
