Founded in 1937, the Society is Central Florida's oldest, largest, best known, well-respected animal welfare agency. As an open door facility, it's important for you to know there are no time limits on how long an animal will remain in our care while waiting to be adopted into a new home. We have a 100% adoption rate for those animals who are healthy and friendly. The SPCA of Central Florida is the leading animal welfare agency in Central Florida with two shelters and two spay/neuter clinics. They are located in south Orlando (near the Millenia Mall) and Sanford (near Flea World). We serve as an active resource center providing the community with a variety of much needed programs and services, all designed to bring and keep people and companion animals together. These include: * Affordable veterinary care * Pet admissions from families who can no longer care for them * Pet adoptions into new permanent homes * Cruelty and neglect investigations * Disaster response and relief * Emergency pet sheltering for families in crisis * Humane education * Information and referral * Pet feeding programs for senior citizens in need * Pet visitation programs * Spay/neuter clinics * Volunteer programs Source: www.orlandopets.org
