Soi Dog was created to provide a humane and sustainable solution to managing the stray population and to address their medical needs.

Every year, Soi Dog sterilises and vaccinates tens of thousands of street dogs and cats in Phuket, Bangkok, and other provinces of Thailand, and has achieved the milestone of 212,534 animals sterilised today. The mission is to prevent needless suffering through mass sterilization and vaccination (CNVR) of street dogs and cats. It is impossible to calculate how many  puppies and kittens have been prevented from being born into a world that does not want them but will certainly run into many millions.

In addition, thousands of dogs and cats have been treated for injury and disease through emergency and ongoing veterinary in Thailand’s first animal hospital for stray animals.

Soi Dog runs a large shelter and rehoming centre for over 700+ animals that have been abandoned or abused or neglected and in countless cases have been subjected to terrible cruelty.

Soi Dog also campaigns for an improvement in animal welfare rights across Asia, and helps animals affected by natural disasters, such as the severe flooding in southern Thailand in 2017 and prior to that, the Bangkok floods of 2011 and the Asian tsunami of 2004.

Soi Dog has been successful in effectively ending Thailand’s dog meat trade and is actively expanding its efforts to neighbouring countries. In Thailand, our undercover investigators continue to monitor for signs of the trade re-emerging. Soi Dog cares for hundreds of dogs rescued from the dog meat industry with the ultimate goal of finding them loving homes.
