South Louisiana Center for the Arts

A nonprofit organization

Founded in 2001, South Louisiana Center for the Arts (SoLa) is a nonprofit organization committed to promoting youth performing arts in our region. As the only youth theatre education program in Terrebonne Parish, we are deeply committed to making the performing arts accessible and enriching the lives of local children and teens.

Our theater education workshops and production opportunities cultivate creativity, communication skills, and self-esteem in young participants. Each year, over 100 local students ages 8-17 take part in our three fully-staged musical productions. Many discover newfound passions and go on to pursue the arts in college and beyond.

However, as a nonprofit, we rely heavily on the generosity of donors to keep our programs running. While student tuition, ticket sales, and grants provide crucial support, these funding sources are often unpredictable and insufficient to cover all of our annual expenses, which range from staff salaries and venue rentals to insurance and administrative fees.

Your donation can ensure that we keep tuition affordable for all families, regardless of their financial situation, while also providing need-based scholarship opportunities when we are able to. A gift of any size makes a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.

We invite you to join us in inspiring our youth and keeping the arts alive in our community!
