Song Community Development Corporation

We are a nonprofit organization located in New Orleans East whose mission is rooted in the Vietnamese experience but works to increase the quality of life of all BIPOC communities. Our justice work with community partners encompasses health, climate, food, education, housing, workforce, culture, and arts.

Community Engagement: We're launching a community needs assessment and hosting focus groups and meetings to foster dialogue.
Food Access: Through VEGGI Farmers Cooperative, we provide culturally relevant, healthy foods to Vietnamese seniors weekly.
Business Development: We're relaunching the Villages of the East Coalition, uniting local nonprofits and faith-based groups to address environmental justice.
Environmental Justice: Partnering with green infrastructure companies and Healthy Gulf, we're building projects along waterways to manage stormwater and reduce nutrient runoff.
Senior Housing: We're developing affordable senior housing in response to post-Katrina needs, collaborating with experts through the ULI REDI program.
