Mission

Our goal is to teach our students to become educated, committed, and ethical members of both their Jewish and American communities within the teachings and traditions of the Conservative movement. We teach a love of Israel. We empower our students to learn and to seek knowledge with confidence and enthusiasm within a challenging and supportive environment. Our school reaches into the family, creating a partnership in faith and in learning.

Programs

From the outset, the leadership of the South Area Solomon Schechter Day School has focused on making our school the best it can be, offering the highest quality academic environment and an experienced, caring staff. Perhaps most illustrative of our success is the fact that, since opening in 1989, we have grown from 23 students to 230 in grades K-8. This past year, we attracted families and enrolled boys and girls from a record 20 communities south and west of Boston. SASSDS allocates financial assistance to over half of our families, accounting for 24% of our budget. This is an increase from 16% only 3 years ago.
