Since 1998, SVS’s purpose has remained the same: to help survivors of domestic violence at no cost to them. We empower clients to recognize their self-worth and find independence through services including emergency shelter, childcare, financial education, case management, victim advocacy, and therapy. Our services are grouped into four key areas:

1. Emergency Shelter – Confidential shelters in West Jordan and Tooele offer safe housing for women, men, and children fleeing abuse. Survivors receive 24/7 access to a safe and secure location, meals, basic necessities, and on-site support services. When shelter capacity is exceeded, we place clients in emergency hotels to ensure no survivor is turned away due to space constraints.
2. Advocacy Centers – Our Advocacy Centers reduce barriers by offering key services without requiring a shelter stay. Survivors who may be staying with friends or family can still access case management, housing support, and financial education through our community-based and mobile advocacy teams. Case Management services are available in Salt Lake, Tooele, Carbon, and Emery Counties.
3. Clinical Services – Licensed therapists provide short-term, trauma-informed counseling to adults and children. Services include individual therapy, family counseling, and therapeutic groups—offered at no cost. Therapy helps survivors process abuse, build resilience, and regain control over their lives.
4. Prevention and Education – SVS works proactively to disrupt the cycle of violence. Our team offers school-based education, community workshops, and professional training for law enforcement, healthcare workers, and service providers. These programs equip community members with the knowledge and tools to recognize, respond to, and prevent domestic violence.

All services are grounded in evidence-based practices, designed with input from survivors, and evaluated regularly for impact and improvement. Our staff reflect the communities we serve and bring multilingual, culturally informed, and trauma-aware perspectives to their work. Whether through emergency response or long-term support, SVS ensures that every survivor has access to the tools and services they need to reclaim safety and independence.
