South Asian Network (SAN) is a Southern California-based nonprofit organization that provides
culturally specific services to South Asians. Our staff is multilingual and capable of serving clients in
English, Hindi, Urdu, Bangla and Punjabi.
Founded in 1990, SAN has helped thousands of women, men and children and continues to do so
through our 4 primary programs:

Community Health Action Initiative (CHAI)
- Application assistance and education about public health benefits such as MediCal, Covered
California, CalFresh etc.
- Referrals to clinics with free/low-cost healthcare services
- Older adult support such as application assistance for In Home Support Services, scheduling
doctor's appointments, assistance with transportation, interpretation services, SSI applications

Voices Against Violence (AWAZ)
- Court accompaniment and legal assistance for domestic violence and sexual assault cases
- Assistance with public benefits and shelter placement
- Financial literacy, parenting classes, safety planning, counseling, and emotional support
for survivors and their children
- Community workshops to raise awareness about domestic violence,
child abuse, and available resources

Civil Rights Unit (CRU)
- Assistance with applying for U.S. Citizenship
- Prevention of and awareness toward Hate Crimes
- Policy advocacy to increase healthcare access for immigrant communities

Emotional & Mental Health (EMH)
- Free therapy and counseling services to recover from trauma, grief, loss, mental health
conditions, isolation, family conflict, relationship issues and more
