Our organization was formed in 2004 to work with residents, local and state government, and other like-minded organizations in our efforts to preserve parkland for today’s generation, and for generations to come.

The South Bay is "park poor".  Only El Segundo meets the federally recommended park land levels of 10 acres per 1000 residents. California’s “park poor” definition is 3 acres or less per 1000 residents.  Redondo Beach and Torrance, for example, qualify as critically underserved communities.  And, beaches are included in the open space calculations!  Refer to http://sbparks.net/the-south-bay-is-park-poor for more information.
