The Hammond Branch YMCA was founded in December 1964. In January of 2011 the Hammond Branch YMCA merged with the Southlake YMCA in Crown Point, Indiana to form an association called the Crossroads YMCA. We are now formally known as the Crossroads YMCA Hammond Branch.

For more than 40 years we have supported our community with memberships, programs and many other beneficial activities. We offer a wide range of activities for everyone!

The YMCA is the largest non-profit organization in the country. There are over 2,500 YMCA’s just in the U.S. The YMCA is for people of all faiths, race, abilities, gender, ages and income. No one is turned away at the YMCA for inability to pay. The YMCA serves over 18.9 million men, women and children in 10,000 communities throughout the United States. YMCA’s stretch beyond the U.S too. YMCA’s are at work in more than 120 countries around the world, serving more than 45 million people. At the Y we are for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
