Special Forces Scholarship Fund

United States Army Special Forces – the Green Berets – constitute our Nation’s single largest special operations force. Green Berets have been at the forefront of combat operations for over 60 years. The families of our Green Berets, especially the children, bear a heavy burden. They, too, serve this nation while their Soldiers deploy repeatedly into harm’s way.

The Special Forces Scholarship Fund (SFSF) recognizes the service of Green Beret families by awarding merit-based post secondary educational scholarships to the daughters and sons of current and veteran Special Forces Soldiers. This is the only organization whose sole purpose is to provide scholarships to the children of Special Forces.

The SFSF, EIN 27-5458794, is a charitable, tax-exempt organization incorporated in the State of North Carolina on March 8, 2011. It was formed to operate exclusively for charitable and educational purposes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

All SFSF board members and officers are volunteers. They work pro-bono, donating time and money to the fund. All SFSF expenses are covered by board members so that every outside dollar donated to the fund flows through directly to scholarships for our children. Board members represent each of the Special Forces Groups and include Soldiers, business leaders, and academics.

Each year, scholarship funds are distributed directly to accredited universities, colleges, and trade or vocational schools on behalf of our scholars. The progress of our SFSF Scholars is monitored and supported. SFSF Scholars fully understand that the Green Berets stand behind them and that they are our representatives and best hope for the future.
