We're raising funds to launch an annual summer camp for kids with Spina Bifida and their families!  

Every kid deserves to go to camp!

Who doesn’t love summer camp?! Yay, camp! Yet it's not easy for kids with special health care needs to go to camp. Daily living for someone with Spina Bifida requires extra attention and time to do take care of things most of us take for granted. Special health care needs require extra attention and special caregivers. Facilities that are accessible are required to be able to navigate the outdoor and indoor activities of camp. Plus being away from family is also not easy for many kids with special needs. 

So we are designing a summer camp for families!

Often, children with Spina Bifida have few opportunities to connect with others who share their condition. Our families need a camp designed to connect children with Spina Bifida with other children with Spina Bifida, and parents (their caregivers) with other parents. Our camp will help facilitate and sustain these lifelong connections that help provide peer support for kids AND parents. And of course it is designed for fun!  

Fun, connections and learning!

Programs at camp will include educational opportunities, sessions with healthcare professionals, featured speakers from around the country, and a host of FUN outdoor activities. Engaging, personalized sessions provide the education. Ample volunteers from the community provide the support. Hidden Acres, an accessible recreational camping facility, provides the FUN! This is a supportive atmosphere, allows caregivers to relax, families to connect, and children to have fun!
