At the heart of Spirit Mountain Retreat is this vision:

It is our wish that a time of retreat will offer you food for your soul, time to come home to your deepest self, awareness and insight into your own life story and an experience of the One Presence ~ Love within you.

As you take time away from the pace of the world and your busy life, it is possible to awaken to the mystery of the divine within, the blessedness of your very being and of your place within the Universe.  Pausing to listen to nature, resting in the present moment, may help you to listen to your own inner wisdom voice. That voice is always ready to guide you into greater balance, harmony, peace and compassion within your body, mind and spirit. 

 

Waiting, watching, in the still, dark silence, not knowing. Then just before sunrise the world takes in a deep breath, birds awaken, a crescendo of cacophonous twitters salutes the day:

It is so easy here in the Western world to fill every corner and every occasion with something…music, reading, shopping and talking. It is not easy for many of us to just sit and be still, to breathe, to see, to listen, to receive, to develop an attitude of mindfulness, presence and awareness.

 

If you love truth, be a lover of silence.

Spirit Mountain Retreat wishes to provide a meditative environment that supports you and your need for reflection, healing, silence and personal growth;  an environment where nature can reveal her beauty, power and strength, and her teachings of the cycles of life bringing self – healing and transformation.  Here, you can spend your day, held by the arms of the tall pines, nourished by the mountain breezes and entertained by the sounds of creation.  Perhaps a poem or haiku or song will come to you. Perhaps just a sense of the Divine Presence will break in upon your consciousness and fill your heart.
