It’s time for the Springfield Rescue Mission’s for "The Race to 100".

This is your chance to feed the homeless here in the Pioneer Valley this Thanksgiving.

We are looking for at least one hundred friends to give a single gift of a hundred dollars to feed and care for the hungry this Thanksgiving. Your gift goes a long way, providing more than 50 meals to those that need it most!

Have you ever wondered what it would like to be homeless, hungry, addicted or desperately poor? We know. We see. We help.  Every hot meal, every night of safe shelter, and every day of life-changing rehabilitation services help!

Over 125 years have passed since the doors of the Springfield Rescue Mission first opened.  Through the years, the Rescue Mission has stood as a beacon of hope. You and other donors have made it possible for thousands of our area's homeless to have a safe place to go and put their lives back together.

From Ron Willoughby, Executive Director/CEO … “From the look on his weathered face, I could tell my homeless friend had something on his mind. There was a lifetime of pain etched deeply into his forehead. And yet, against all odds, he was thankful. He wasn’t just thankful, he was thankful for our donor, and especially for our volunteers. “I’m thankful that they treat us, and look at us, as individual human beings,” he said. “I’m thankful that they try to befriend us.” That, my friend, is thanksgiving in the real world — the kind you inspire when you help others put their lives back together.”

Many in our community are still struggling to feed their families, pay their mortgages, or find a job. Many are battling addictions. And they are turning to the Springfield Rescue Mission in growing numbers. That’s why we need your help now.

Won’t you reach out to the homeless and hungry this holiday season? Please help today. And if you would like volunteer at one of our meals or other events, please contact our office as soon as possible. You’ll give someone in need a reason to be thankful, and reap a harvest of joy for yourself!
