Changing the lives of Jacksonville, Florida, youth through rowing since 1990
SRB Rowing teaches mutual respect, responsibility, determination and perseverance. Rowers share in character development, sportsmanship, and integrity, while creating a foundation for a lifetime of fitness.
Today's program grew out of a high school student's vision. SRB Rowing had humble beginnings with borrowed equipment and a lean-to attached to the Jacksonville University boathouse. Through many generous donations, parent support and hard work, SRB Rowing now has a permanent home at 645 Cesery Blvd., a fleet of competitive rowing shells, safety launches, a floating dock and a training room.
Our team relies on volunteers and donations to keep the rower fees at a minimum. The expenses of regattas, trips, equipment and maintenance are supported through fundraising efforts.
Rowing encourages the development of time management skills, promoting academic success. Many of our rowers have gone on to row at Princeton, Dartmouth, Stanford, Harvard, the Naval Academy, Tennessee, Michigan, among others. Florida schools like Stetson, JU, UCF and Florida Tech also have SRB Alumni.
SRB Rowing needs your support to continue its mission.
