The Lantern House

A nonprofit organization

$7,707 raised by 51 donors

In 2012, over 400 children called The Lantern House/St. Anne's Center their home. They lived at our homeless shelter with their parents and siblings along with hundreds more men and women. Last year St. Anne's Center provided over 67,000 nights of shelter and 86,113 hot, nutritious meals. With the help of Case Management services, over 450  individuals and families were able to transition from the shelter back to their own permanent housing. In the 2016-2017 year, we successfully find and keep employment for over 50% of our clients throughout the year. St. Anne's continues to serve anyone in need regardless of race, religion, national origin, gender, and any other restricting factor.

Our Mission:
Lantern House exists to aid the poor, needy and homeless by providing them food, shelter, and critical emergency services. We provide a hand up rather than a handout. Our goal is to transition residents from shelter to housing; encouraging their sense of independence, self-sufficiency, and self-confidence. We are committed to carrying out this mission while treating those who come to us with compassion, dignity, and respect.

Our Core Values:
> Compassion requires us to stand with and embrace others in their need that together we may grow as the human family.
> Service directs us to translate our values of faith, hope, charity, and integrity for the well-being of others.
> Dignity  in each human being compels us to meet one another with respect, kindness, and charity.
> Responsibility obliges us to care for the least among us that together we may enrich and strengthen the community.
