St. Anthony of Padua Parish - Fairport Harbor, OH.

We are a welcoming Catholic community called by God to live out the message of Christ in love and service to all people. Our parish mission is: To Proclaim the Gospel of Christ in word, deed, and charity.

St. Anthony of Padua has been serving the Catholic Community in Fairport Harbor for 120 years. As an integral part of the Village, St. Anthony has participated in many village activities throughout the years. From Mardi Gras floats to cabbage roll dinners, the Good Samaritan Fund to the Food Pantry, the Church and community have been partners in the lives of residents.

We hope to continue to move forward here at St. Anthony's in planning for the future. The history of St. Anthony of Padua is vital to so many parishioners and staff. Especially to those families whose family members built St. Anthony's, and their lives since, have been intertwined within the life of the parish and this village. We thank them for that. They are the cornerstone of our parish community in so many ways. Today, many new families are joining us from all over the Lake County area and they too feel a warm sense of belonging to this community. They are bringing with them something new that enriches our parish community. 

As a parish community, we have had to find ways to preserve the past while moving forward. In the Gospel of Mark we are told that “no one pours new wine into old wineskins for the old skins will break…” There is always a temptation to try to put the new wine in the old skins because we don’t want to let go of what we have always used or always done. The changes that St. Anthony's has experienced over the many years have not been without their challenges but have always proven to be fruitful.   We give thanks to God for all we have experienced as the community of St. Anthony's over the last 120 years in the village of Fairport Harbor. We are grateful for all of the opportunities provided to us. We celebrate in many ways, the rich tradition in which we, in so many ways, are rooted.
