Imagine being a single mother of three, working full-time as a CNA, and suddenly finding yourself without a place to call home. That was Amanda’s reality. At just 36 years old, she and her 3 minor children were without shelter. With no savings and past evictions limiting her options, Amanda feared the streets were her only choice.
Thankfully, Amanda shortly found shelter at the St. Francis Housing Crisis Center. Amanda arrived determined to rebuild her family’s future.
For over four months, the shelter provided Amanda with stability, safety, and housing-focused case management. She saved money, secured her children’s documents, and tackled her barriers to permanent housing. The turning point came when her apartment application was approved. Receiving her keys was a moment of overwhelming joy, relief, and tears.
Now thriving in an apartment, Amanda and her children have a secure foundation for their future. The fear of homelessness has been replaced with hope and stability. For Amanda, the St. Francis House was more than a shelter; it was the bridge to reclaiming her life and ensuring her children a stable future.
Help us provide a safe haven for families like Amanda’s and support their rebound to housing.
