St Croix Bike & Pedestrian Trails Coalition

The St. Croix Bike and Pedestrian Trails Coalition is a grassroots effort of St. Croix County residents to create a coordinated bike and pedestrian trail network in St. Croix County. 

The Trail Coalition's mission is to support the development of a multi-use bike/pedestrian trail system and road accommodations network throughout St. Croix County that connects to the St. Croix River Crossing Loop Trail, creates safe commuting and recreational opportunities, encourages healthy life styles, and promotes tourism and commerce in the greater St. Croix County area.  

The Trails Coalition got its start around a kitchen table in 2013 with a few interested people discussing how to get more and safer bicycle and walking trails in St. Croix County.  The impetus was the St. Croix River Crossing project with its Loop Trail engendering interest in the possibilities for multi-state bicycle tourism and commuting to and from the Minneapolis and St. Paul urban area and further into Wisconsin.

With the opening of the  St. Croix River Crossing Bridge on August 2, 2017, the Coalition's projects have turned from creating orderly trail planning processes to guide future trail expansion in St. Croix County to implementation of various trail options.  All along the way, the Coalition has used small donations to fund incremental progress in areas that are ready for trail creation and/or expansion and to provide accurate information about trail issues to the general area.  

The Trails Coalition has a strong Board of Directors and Committee structure, all populated by volunteers, who are dedicated to orderly trail expansion in the St. Croix River Valley.  You can be assured that any donated funds will go directly to carefully considered and wisely chosen trail projects.  In the coming years, the area will reflect the investment made by residents and businesses alike.
