St Germaine

When 18-year-old Maria (not her real name) saw the video about baby development and then the positive pregnancy test, she felt overwhelmed. She and her boyfriend were unsure about their parents' reaction, and they felt inadequate to raise a child. But they drew on their ripening maturity, and worked out a plan before sharing the news with their parents. Maria clutched the ultrasound picture to her chest as she left the mobile van. She knew they would never be sorry.

When a woman finds herself with an unexpected pregnancy she may feel alone and wonder what her options are. St. Germaine offers free pregnancy tests, encouragement, referrals for free ultrasounds, as well as clothes, diapers, and formula for her children. She is given a layette before the birth of the child. 

We provide resource information for housing, medical, and counseling, and a form that states she has a positive test so she may apply for insurance, and begin the prenatal process.

Our seasoned volunteers treat each woman (and man) with nonjudgmental care in a safe, confidential environment.  We see each unborn child as a precious gift. And we seek to meet the needs of the young mother and father.
